Yes, it is true! It is that time of year already! Next week pitchers and catchers report to spring training! With all the talk this off season of steroids and the Mitchell Report, I won't be surprised if reporters start looking for a "Mister Steroid". Heck, if Roger Clemens former trainer, Brian McNamee, saved vials and needles from 8 years ago, you have to wonder what might be sitting in some other locker in some room somewhere that hasn't been opened in years. Oh yea, Brian McNamee, don't be such a pack rat! Get a maid!
The news of steroids has overshadowed some big trades. Johan Santana trade from the Minnesota Twins to the New York Mets was big news, but only for one day. Erik Bedard will no longer be wearing a Baltimore Orioles jersey and instead will be wearing a Seattle Mariners jersey after being dealt for 5 players! That trade will probably get very little press, yet, this is a guy that is almost as good as Santana, but played on a terrible Orioles team.
Finally, we haven't been able to confirm the rumor that the New York Yankees manager, Joe Girardi has been told by Hank Stienbrenner that he has to win the first 10 games of the season, or George Mitchell will be brought in to wear the Yankee pin stripes and manage the team!
